About Carlos Baerga: Carlos was signed by the Padres in 1985 at age sixteen. He along with Sandy Alomar, Jr and Chris James were traded to the Indians for Joe Carter. He played in Cleveland for six years, then he was traded to the Mets. He was a three time all star while with Cleveland. He played in thirty-three games with San Diego in 1999, splitting the season between the Padres and the Indians. He also appeared in the majors for the Red Sox, Diamondbacks and Nationals. He played in Korea in 2001 for the Samsung Lions. He played through 2005.

I remember seeking Baerga rookies back in the early 90's... but had no idea he was drafted by the Padres. Also didn't realize he played there in 1999 either.

Also didn't realized his ties to the Padres. I can only picture him in a Cleveland uniform.

Cleveland should retire his #. He was instrumental in those 1989-1996 teams that started the playoff run and fans in Cleveland remember him fondly enough.
