How I got the Auto: I purchased the signed card from a seller on Ebay.

About the player: Sid was born in Mexico and moved to Brawley, California when he was sixteen.  He was drafted by the Angels in 1970.  He made his major league debut in 1975 with the Angels. He was traded to Cleveland in 1977.  He was named to the All Star Game in 1979.  In 1982 he was traded to the Phillies for Bake McBride.  In 1983 he was traded to the Padres for Joe Lefebrve.  In 1984 he was purchased from the Padres by the Tigers.  After his playing career he was a pitching coaches in MLB and the Mexican League.  In 2004 he was named to the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame.

Fun Fact: On July 19, 1982 Tony Gwynn got his first MLB hit off of Sid who was pitching for the Phillies at the time.
