About the Player: Vander Wal played the outfield and first base for eight teams from 1991-2004. He played for the Padres in 1998 and 1999. He also played for the Expos, Rockies, Giants, Pirates, Yankees, Brewers and Reds. He was a scout for the Padres from 2009-2016. He holds the record for most pinch hits in a single season with 28 in 1995 with the Rockies. Ichiro almost caught him with 27 in 2017.
