Two questions

I still have about sixty cards I need for the autograph Frankenset.  Does anyone know of another source, besides ebay, with reasonable prices for autographed cards?  I would appreciate your help.
Can anyone use these?  My printer stopped printing and so I got a new one.  I had these two extras for the old printer.  I would like to work a deal with someone for them.  If you are interested let me know.  Thank you.

Customs Page 6

The card in the center is the most produced card in the history of my customs.  I have produced over 600 copies of this card.  I think Mike uses them for business cards.  As I understand it he has a pest control business in Arizona, he has also requested a bunch when he is inducted into his high schools Hall of Fame in Minnesota.  Evidently no one believed he had played major league ball until I made these.  He pitched in 18 games for the Padres in 1974.  There are several photos of the Padres in Chicago which have the Gremlin billboard across the street from Wrigley Field in them.
I think Manny Mota was the first player I did a card of whom I had heard of before this project got started.

Mail Day

Today was a big mail day and thank you to all who sent me stuff.  The Travis Outlaw and Cole Barthels came all the way across town from Kerry of Cards on Cards, along with some Tony Gwynn and Padres cards.  The Alan Ashby and Bill Russell came from Jim of Cards as I see Them.  Also Trevor of Bump and Run Football card sent some cards for my Padres frankenset.  Johnny's Trading Spot sent me some Honus Bonus Padres cards.  Jay of Card Hemorrhage sent a bunch of Padres cards in trade for some closers I sent him.

Still trying to figure out the correct fonts to use.  Also figuring out how to remove backgrounds fully and partially.  No stories to go with these round of cards

In doing research for the backs of the cards I find a few stories that are heart wrenching and some that are hard to believe.  Jay Franklin was heart wrenching and Manny Seonae was hard to believe.

Today we continue with the Twins.  More orders from the autograph dealer.  At this time the '72 cards were old fashioned cut and paste and scan.  Blow up a '72 card, print it, use an exacto knife to cut out the picture area and then print the player photo and position it in the frame and then scan it and you have a '72 front.  All the backs are made with MS Publisher.

not the Padres

A lot of people have been sharing their collections outside of baseball, so I thought I would share one of my other collections.  One of my other collections is figurines having to do with books.  On this shelf is my collection, all the figures are holding books.  Edgar Allan Poe, Dr. Seuss, Stephen King and George R.R. Martin are all holding copies of books.  As are E.T., Papa Smurf, Brainy Smurf, A Gnome and the Rubber Duck are all reading.  Doc for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves reminds me of my sons whose initials are D.R.

Please welcome,

The two newest members of the Frankenset. I go to eBay type in a number signed and look for the best deal and someone I recognize or a unique looking card.  Yesterday I added Milwaukee Brewers Dan Plesac from 1990 and Seahawks Dwayne Harper from 1992.
76 cards to go

Customs Day 2

These were all orders from the autograph dealer.  We were trying to make cards of players who had never had cards or who never had cards with a particular team.

Customs

Way back in 2017 I made a custom card of Leon Everitt and asked an autograph dealer I had done business if he could get it signed for me.  He said yes and we began a business arrangement.  I would make cards for him, if it was a Padres player I would supply them for free and he would get one signed for me.  Other players he paid me.  These are the first nine I made.  I often did actual cutting and pasting back then and I used Publisher (which I still do).  I hope that you will see that I improve as we go.  I am on my second series now, I capped the first series at 500 and am now up to 387 cards in series 2.  I have gone beyond just baseball players to celebrities, authors, governors and more.
At this point most of the cards were request from the autograph dealer.
I have the Van Kelly and Leon Everitt signed and made a cut of the John Sipin card.

Frankenset Update 5.5.2020

Most of these are ebay pickups.  The Louis Marson was a gift from Blog Reader Bruce and the Alan Ashby came from Jim of Cards as I See Them.  I just need seventy seven more cards, then I will start on my Padres Frankenset.

Padrographs # 1196 to 1199

While doing the giveaways I neglected updating the Padrographs.
#1196, I already had the San Diego Chicken autographed card, but I didn't have one of the Friar so I picked this one up on the Bay.

#1197, Hudson Head was drafted by the Padres last year and amazingly according to the Trading Card Data Base he has 129 cards.  I got this off of ebay after comparing it to the auto on some logoless Panini cards.
#1198, I made this card awhile back for an autograph dealer I know and he had sent it to Alex and we thought they were gone and never coming back.  A month or so after everyone had gone into quarantine he got them back, so I got one.  Alex pitched in 31 games for the Padres in 2012.
#1199 Phil Hughes was traded to the Padres from the Twins in 2018 and appeared in 16 games for the Padres in 2019 before being released in August of 2019.  I made this during Spring Training of 2019 and it was returned after he left the team.  I was alerted of an address by a fellow blogger.

I only know of one possibility for sure for #1200.  It will be interesting to see whom that is.

Trying to keep the Post Office busy

This is Tyler, our mailman. The mask is one he and my wife collaborated on.  He supplied the fabric and patch and she made it.  I have given him a lot to haul away in the past month with the giveaways.  Thank you, Tyler and thank you all for making it so much fun.
Yesterday afternoon my granddaughter and I prepped stuff to go out for the end of the giveaway.  We sent it out yesterday afternoon.  Here is everyone who should be getting something soon, Fuji, Zach, Jerold, John S., A. Demarest, Thad, Brett, Jon F., Jeff S. Laurens, Brendan, Trevor and Matt K.

Free Stuff Finale

This is the last of the daily free stuff posts.  I still have a few more things to give away, but it won't be on a daily basis.  Last weekend I bought a blaster box each of 2020 XFL and 2020 USA Stars and Stripes.  I got three cards, including an auto, of Keenan Reynolds whom I have begun collecting.  The only person I had heard of in the Stars and Stripes was Bobby Witt.  I did get a 1 of 1 card in that box. It has been fun sending cards all over the country.

Friday Free Stuff

This is the final week of the daily giveaways.  I am almost out of stuff.  I may periodically do this again if I get too much stuff.  For this last week I ask that you pick one card per day.  Anyone asking for more than one will only get the first card they ask for.  Thank you.  Only two more daily giveaways
