- Graduated from High School in Eugene's Civic Stadium home of the Eugene Emeralds at the time.
- Played volleyball for seven straight days (12 hr shifts) on the Eugene Mall
- Reported to US Navy Boot Camp (did all of the above between June 12 and June 24)
- Saw my first two Padres games in person, during boot camp. Big Mac, Willie McCovey played first
- The Padres under Manager John McNamara went 71-91 for last place in the NL West.
- Padres played at Jack Murphy stadium.
- Reported to A School for further training at Great Lakes for the US Navy.
- Shaved my head for the first time, not a wise idea in November on the shores of Lake Michigan.
- Have signed cards from 37 of the 38 players the Padres used in 1975, just missing Don Hahn.
