Padrograph #1211, Terry Shumpert. Terry played from 1990 to 2003. He hit 49 homers in his career. He played in 13 games for the Padres in 1997, after signing as a free agent. He has a son who played in the Braves system for a couple of years and is a cousin of Mookie Betts. I got this custom card signed through Past Pros.
Padrograph #1212, Sparky Anderson. Sparky was the Padres third base coach in 1969. He was named part of the Angels staff for 1970, but before that happened he was offered the opportunity to manage the Reds. And we all know what happened after that. I bought a cut signature and made this poorly crafted custom card. I for some reason made the hole too big and didn't realize it until I had started gluing.
These additions to the Frankset got me down to only needing forty four more cards. I have another order inbound which will get me down to thirty three cards I need. I have decided to do a Padres Frankenset when I get done with this one.
I recently received a bunch of cards from an eBay order I placed. I am trying to order all from one dealer and with free shipping. This is the most recent order, informed delivery digest has let me know that I have a bunch more arriving today. A wide variety of subjects and companies today. One oddity is that Danny Darwin is #519 and card #518 is Buck Martinez from 1986 Topps also and the poses are almost the same.
I found an address for Ken Jennings online and sent him this custom card that I made. This helps me with three of a kind as I now have cards of a contestant, the announcer and the host. I would like to go for a full house and add James Holzhauer and Brad Rutter.
Padrograph #1210, Amos Otis. Amos Otis played seventeen seasons in the major leagues, playing fourteen years with the Royals, two with the Mets and one with the Pirates. He went to the All Star Game five times. He lead the American League with doubles twice and stolen bases once. After retiring in 1984 he coached for the Rockies and Padres. He was the Padres hitting coach from 1988-1990. I sent this to a private signing that Mr. Otis did recently.
Padrograph #1205, Joe Pepitone. Joe retired from the Braves in 1973, tried playing in Japan for a few months and then retired again in 1974. In 1976 at age thirty five he tried coming back with the Padres but didn't make the team. Someone had a photographer and got this photo. I made the card and Joe signed it at a private signing at the end of June.
Padrograph #1206, Alan Zinter. Alan was the hitting coach for two and a half seasons from 2016-2018. This custom card took three and a half years to come back.
Padrograph #1207, Duke Snider. After retiring from baseball Duke was a play by play announcer and analyst for the Padres. During that time he also did a little coaching. I found a cancelled check that he endorsed on Ebay and made the card around that. Some one paid him $8 dollars to autograph a HOF plaque postcard in 1989.
Padrograph #1208, Dave Smith. After pitching for the Astros and Cubs Dave was the pitching coach for the Padres from 1999-2001. I found an autographed photo of Dave signing at a San Diego State event and designed the card around that.
Padrograph #1209, Trent Grisham. Trent will be playing in this season, however long it ends up being. The card is from this years Big League release.
Frankenset #481, Les Lancaster. This was one of the cards I got out of my pack of retrographs. Only need fifty five more cards to finish.
