Are we considering 1983 Vintage yet? I was twenty-six that year, out of high school for eight years, four years out of the Navy and two years away from getting married. Anyway the 1983 kicked butt winning fourteen to one. Recycled Vintage versus Actual Vintage, Joey is now a New York Met in a three team trade that brought Joe Musgrove to the Padres. Benito was Rookie of the Year, played seven seasons in San Diego and was a five time all-star.
Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your assistance.
Gotta go for the Topps 87 card (the first cards I ever bought!!) and Benny on this one.
ReplyDelete87 topps gets my vote over the heritage
ReplyDeleteI'll almost always go for Benito, and this is no exception.
ReplyDeleteNow this is a difficult choice for me, but in the end, my vote goes to Santiago. One of my earliest baseball memories is his 34 game hit streak.
ReplyDelete1983 isn't vintage. Benny!
ReplyDeleteI'll go with Joey in a lost cause. Benito has a lot of great cards, but that ain't one of 'em.
ReplyDeleteJoey gets my vote. The '71 cards are so awesome, just as they were when I was 11...not yet vintage.
ReplyDeleteI don't consider '83 vintage, although it's also clearly not junk wax. There's an era that's kind of undefined.
ReplyDeleteGotta go with the new Met Lucchesi. The Santiago isn't that nice a picture anyway.
The Lucchesi card for me as well!
ReplyDeleteI think they're both awful, but I gotta go with Benito.
ReplyDeleteNeither are great. Lucchesi by default.
ReplyDeleteTough call... because neither card truly screams pick me. The blue sky w/clouds is kinda cool on the Lucchesi, but I'm gonna go with the Santiago. He's got the name... and I like the 87T design more than the 71T.
ReplyDeleteLucchesi
ReplyDeleteVoting for the Santiago rookie.
ReplyDeleteBenny's wearing a rather nice cross, so by divine intervention I'm voting for Santiago!
ReplyDeleteGotta go with Santiago. I definitely associate him with the Padres and he was so good during his time there.
ReplyDeleteLove the '87 Topps design, but I will go with Lucchesi just for the better looking background
ReplyDeleteBoth aren't terribly impressive, so I'll go with Benny's shiny cross.
