Okay today everyone should recognize a couple of the guys on this page. The Lowell Palmer card started a string of his cards with different teams. He even dug a picture out of his own collection for one of the teams. I hope everyone recognized at least one player today. Jim McAndrew's son Jamie helped with the card of his Dad with the Padres. How did you do on recognizing someone? Hope you broke your 0fer streak.
Anyone who doesn't at least know Dave Kingman should just stop playing! (Yay my streak is over!)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely more familiar names here. Of course I know Kingman, and I remember McAndrew well as he played his whole career with my Mets, apart from that short stint with the Padres. Put him with Cleon Jones and John Stearns as important Mets who played with one other team but never got a card with that other team. Except the one you made! Are these cards numbered, BTW? I recall Moses, too, as a backup catcher who jumped around to a number of teams. Perhaps not surprisingly as a New Yorker I picture him as a Yankee, but he was only there briefly. (He's got a 1974 Topps with them.)
ReplyDeleteOf course I know who Palmer is, but I can't say I remember him from his playing days; I just know him from his cards.
Brett, I just made a card of Cleon Jones with the White Sox. The cards are numbered. They have full backs with all the stats and everything you would expect to find on a card from that year.
ReplyDeleteKingman and Palmer. I'm starting to heat up.
ReplyDeleteRod, when you get a chance I'd love to have full scans of the Jones and McAndrew cards, front and back. Thanks.
