Locklear and Loewer

Gene Locklear gained some notice after his baseball career as an artist. He played 4 seasons with the Padres.  I got this card signed through the mail after many attempts.  Carlton Edward Loewer came to San Diego from Philly in a trade and before he ever played he missed a year because of an intriguing injury.  Carlton broke his leg hunting when he fell out of a tree stand.  I got through the mail and I don't think I mentioned that unfortunate incident in the letter.
